Hollywood Hits the Fan
Somewhere high above the Hollywood Hills, there is a planet size gargantuan fan. Its golden Oscar blades are spinning slower and slower, being rapidly clogged by a flying onslaught of odious ordure, usually discreetly channeled down a flush pipe.
For some reason, beyond the comprehension of millions of people, this dark cack has been smeared for decades over sincere, good, and talented people. They have just kept quiet, doing their best to culturally re-adjust under the pressure of an ever present bullying odour, consequently working in an atmosphere of abuse, fear, and stress, damaging many creative souls.
Now, in a global collision of bravery, these good people are going beyond their pain and shame, declaring to the whole world that great change is imminent, absolutely necessary, and vital for a way better future to be built than has gone before. There is no going back.
We are in a time of great shaking on earth (Hebrews 12:27, Haggai 2:7), where everything in society is, and will be shaken up; every industry structure, paradigm, and modus operandi where people are involved. The blankets of darkness that have forcibly covered people’s fears, are being confronted and thrown off, in a willing wave of abandonment, creating a domino effect of unprecedented human boldness to raise the voice of change.
The incalculable hurt, scars, pain and suffering, cannot be allowed to continue on any human level. Healing and complete change from these old ways is actually possible; as people continue to rise up, we will see it happen quickly.
This is a time in culture everywhere to declare and enact a better way of taking care of business, where the virtues of honour, respect, and kindness toward people, and clear moral and ethical boundaries, can be a new norm in the creative worlds and beyond.
The voice is a powerful thing. In 1837, Hans Christian Anderson wrote the story of The Little Mermaid. Now a Disney tale embedded in the minds of millions. Ariel, the beautiful mermaid lived under the sea with an extraordinary singing voice like no other, unfortunately the evil octopus Ursula lived there too. Ursula’s goal? To sign up Ariel in a covenant of compromise to make her give up her voice.
There was a great battle over time, Ursula the octopus became gross and bloated, its tentacles went everywhere in a desperate bid to control, however, it was destroyed in the end, and the beauty of Ariel’s song survived.
Many voices are being heard today; the sound is being cast across the world. It is time for the demise and end of many a bloated octopus, so we can see the greatest human endeavour of love and care toward one another, in creative atmospheres, unlike we have ever seen before. As things re-build, may many discover there is another way of taking care of business.
Can someone please unplug the fan?
