Revelation: The Terrible and the Good - Pt 14

New Space
Billions stand before God, separated into the various queues before the great white throne; none of them sit in this heavenly court. All are waiting to be judged by Him, with those notable in the kingdom, who have the honour of assisting in the judgements. It is an orderly process; the angels have it well organised. I’m not sure how long the judgements take, but at first it seems slow and meticulous before any decision about anyone is decreed from the books.
Multiple harps play music, filling the atmosphere of the space around the throne. It is calming, however, an antithesis to the weeping and wailing of people who are sent to their eternal end in the Lake of fire. Adriquel and I stood there as long as we could, way past me finishing the writing. He then turned to me and said, “Hey… let’s go.”
As we walk, he reminded me, saying, “Remember the words of the Apostle Peter? He said to… ‘look for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells. (2 Peter 3:13).’” “Yes… indeed,” I agreed, wondering where to look. He guided me away from the endless activity at the white throne, to what felt like another time in the not to distant future. We traversed into more empty space; there was no floor or roof, or any such thing to anchor myself to a tangible reality; then we stopped.
“This is far enough. Now sit here and be ready with your parchment and pen,” ordered Adriquel. “Sit where?… Pen?” I said out loud. Then I realised my writing stick is actually called a pen. A bright yellow wide arm chair appeared; a little table is on the right arm, on it is a warm drink. I hoped coffee; I think I needed it.
Adriquel replied, “Yes, the pen… it’s a word used 100’s of years later beyond your time, and as you know, the one you’ve been using is rather special. The Revelation Pen; has its own mind, and can respond to God’s presence and words, even if you’re not holding it, as you’ve found out. Its crystal qualities knows who you are.” I sat dutifully, sipping… yes… coffee… wow… heaven knows how to… then Adriquel nudged me; I looked up… as the panorama unfolded before us.
New Heaven New Earth
“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.” (Rev 21:1). Well… that put paid to any doubts I may have had about the old earth.
It is hard to get used to this idea that I’ll never see earth again in the future, or the heavens as we’ve known them. The new ones though, well…looked incredible. It’s hard to say how it all works in eternity, as it’s so new, existing in a state of no evil. But I do know… the Lord has incredible things in store for those who love Him (1 Corinth 2:9).
The earth is a completely different construct. No ocean blue is seen; more peaceful greens with patches of white, and many subtle nuances of a myriad of new colours I’d never witnessed. It is hard to say if the earth is round, or just a flexible changing organic space we live and work within, and creatively form for purposes as required. Hopefully, I will see more detail later.
The new heavens are full of light but not from a sun, moon or stars, but a warm peaceful light that emanates just from God. It has a nourishing healthy quality to it, like being out in the fresh air on a boat all day. At first I was a bit disappointed there is no oceans of any sort; it seemed odd. I love fishing, and the sea, the salt, and wind, as Jesus did. Also as yet, I saw no animals or white horses. Maybe the Lord has them hidden, and the sea is somewhere else to use when needed… who knows at this stage.
All this is being revealed right before us as I sit on the yellow chair with Adriquel standing beside me. I finished the coffee real quick, as in the far distance I saw what looked like a huge block, with lights like a city ascending from the nothingness above. It felt like when we used to build a new boat and it was being pushed into the water for all to see and use.
New Jerusalem
‘Then I, John, saw the holy city. New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.’ (Rev 21:2). Above the great new city is an open space, a new sort of sky-heaven place. The ascending music is so loud; an orchestra of sound, punctuated by trumpets and deep droning tones, and flutes and strings of all kind, with massive choirs singing, all heralding this perfect city’s arrival. Like the moment a bride arrives for the nisuin ceremony, walking toward the chuppah altar canopy. The city looked fresh and clean with the breathless beauty of a well prepared bride, dressed and ready to marry her husband.
This city, is so unlike the previous description I wrote, of the earthly Jerusalem’s spiritual state of Sodom and Egypt where Jesus was crucified (Rev 11:8). It’s a brand new version, curated in heaven since the world began, for brand new eternal reasons. It’s called ‘the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down from heaven,’ where the Lord’s people will have His ‘new name’ written upon them (Rev 3:12). I’m curious.
On earth, I wrote what Jesus said, ‘I go to prepare a place for you,’ where He’ll be with us (John 14:2-3). And there it is, a new home base, for our eternal relationship and life with all the saints from throughout all the ages, who’ve ‘waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.’ Who’ve desired, ‘a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.’ (Hebrews 11:10,16); this massive heavenly house, the heavenly city of the New Jerusalem, made for a brand new earth.
Then came an important eternal declaration from the new heaven space, for one of the main new reasons…’And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God.” (Rev 21:3). The judgements were done, that we had seen past; and the Lord Himself, is with us forever in the new earth, and New Jerusalem. He will live with us, and us with Him, in fellowship and blessing. The voice of authority then declared His first eternal duty of care to all His people; the changes are drastic to say the least.
“And God will wipe every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying; and there shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” (Rev 21:4). It’s incredulous to think, but it seems many previous ways and things in life pass away forever, along with the old earth and heaven. Every tear shed on earth and all the death, sorrow, and pain is over; never needed in the new eternity…

Back to Reality
All this immense change for me is like drifting in a cloudy dream, overwhelming and marvelling all at the same time. Then suddenly, I was back in the heaven I came to in the beginning of this journey; with the beautiful rainbow around the throne, and the Lord how I saw Him when I arrived (Rev 1:12-19). It is like waking up from sleeping but you are still in the dream. Then the Lord spoke to me directly and firmly, loud and clear. ‘Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And he said to me. “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” (Rev 21:5). My pen and parchment are ready…
His words echoed powerfully in the atmosphere, and as He always said, when we know him by faith we become completely new people, in a world held together by His words, and in eternity absolutely everything is brand new! Even though I’ve known, it’s an overwhelming adjustment to make. No pain or suffering any more, everything new in character and substance. God living at peace with mankind; with those who want to be there with Him from pure hearts. As I wrote the truth and faithfulness of these words, I felt a power go through me like never before. I felt… full and complete.
It is Done!
‘Then He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God, and he shall be My son.” (Rev 21:6-7). He repeated yet again things about Himself, from when I’d first went through heaven’s door, where He told me to write what I see (Rev 1:8). It was clear; all I’d seen and understood on this journey is now done. All He had planned since the foundation of the world, is completed and finished and we are now at the start of the eternal era, ready for new things and wonders … and also, sadly… my writing journey is near its final end! I wonder if I can keep this pen as a souvenir?
God also promised the water of life to every thirsty person. Prophet Isaiah also prophesied this, ‘Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters’ (Isa 55:1). And as Jesus said to the woman at the well, “… given you living water… but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water I shall give him, will become in him a fountain of water springing up into eternal life.” (John 4:10,14). The inheritance to all those who overcome and stand in faith in the Lord, and to be in God’s family, is so far reaching into every possibility. ‘Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.’ (1John 5:5).
Don’t Hold Back
The overall message to everyone is simple, don’t hold back from God, He is real. Just humbly ask God for everything. He has all you need to drink, that will nourish you; giving you power to overcome anything, even all we’ve experienced. For He’s our Dad, and as His children, wants to give all He has inside of Him to us.
‘For the King will say to those on His right hand, “Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of world.”’ (Matt 25:34).‘That those who are called may receive the promise of eternal inheritance’ (Heb 9:15). ‘Reserved in heaven for you’ (1 Peter 1:4). ‘Things present or things to come, all are yours. And you are Christ’s and Christ is God’s’ (1 Corinth 3:22-23).
“But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable. murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolators, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” (Rev 21:8). We know the end of all those who do hold back, and it’s not pretty. The lake inheritance… is the deeply sad result of personal unbelief.
We all must remember the words of Jesus I wrote long ago. “You (God) have given Him (Jesus) authority over all flesh, that He (Jesus) should give eternal life to as many as You (God) have given Him. And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” (John 17:2-3). Jesus already has total authority over your body, you just have to yield it back to Him. Eternal life, IS TO KNOW GOD; there is no lake of fire for those who do, just the peaceful ‘lake’ of eternity living with Him; wouldn’t you like that? Are you holding back?!

Flying Mountain High
Adriquel appeared again and my heart leapt with joy. His words are true too, and here he now is, my faithful helper and friend forever. He then came over and talked with me… “John, it is time for us to take another flight together, are you ready.” He said. “Of course… absolutely, wow!” I excitedly replied. ‘Come, I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.” (Rev 21:9). The city of Jesus Christ the Lamb who is the Saviour of the world.
As I jumped onto Adriquel’s back and strapped myself in, I wondered what that meant, because I understood, that the bride to be is all of us who are saved in Christ… Anyhow, we flew through the massive wormy hole in space surrounded by lights, as the rushing wind refreshed me. ‘And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, having the glory of God. And her light was like the most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal.’ (Rev 21:10-11).
We came to rest on the top of a mountain, covered in pure white snow, yet it was not cold, but like walking on a soft fluffy blanket, as a cloud. Angels seem to revel in taking people to high places to show them things. I could not tell what earth we are on or what heaven we are in, however, it’s certainly new… But the vision, is the same as in the space when we saw the block city in the distance descending from above, from the yellow couch with coffee, yet, we were so much closer now, you could almost touch it; what a glorious sight to behold! We then got to see it all!
The Great Organic City
The city felt like a living organism rather than a cold hard block of rocks and stones that you would see on earth; a city full of God’s moving and adjusting pure light of glory, highlighting every creative nuance in its structure. It is like the clearest of crystal, that can grow and expand into beautiful colours and textures, and be moulded into purposes as needed. It remarkably inherits the traits and character of all believers that live and breathe within its walls, reflecting their heritage. Like the blue crystal sea by the throne; it absorbs the sounds of song and worship, feeding and shifting heaven’s atmosphere, causing it to expand and grow into any possibility; a solid sea of safety.
God’s glory light in the city, is like the crystalline, supreme nurturer Jasper stone of earth, continually shining the energies of stability, comfort, security, strength and healing that you can feel. This glorious light pulses in changing colours of red, green, yellow, earthy browns and many others I cannot name. It’s breathless to see…
‘Also she had a great and high wall with twelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel.” (Rev 21:12). It is clear, the New Jerusalem has been curated with the greatest of love and affection for God’s people; His bride. It is the place of His eternal government, and honouring of the first peoples who had gone before on earth. It’s a place of safety, whose gates are guarded by the best and biggest angels I have ever seen.
In the very high walls, are three huge pearl gates each; named in honour of the Jerusalem on earth. On the East wall (Joseph, Benjamin & Dan), the North (Levi, Judah & Reuben), the South (Simeon, Issachar, and Zebulun), and the West wall of the city block (Naphtali, Asher, and Gad); all of Israel’s 12 tribes. The honour guard angels protect the gates (Rev 21:13); only those in Christ can enter. The city is a homage of love to the original Jerusalem; The Lord Is There (Ezek 48:30-35).
‘Now the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.’ (Rev 21:14). I am shocked to see my name on the foundations. I realised then for the first time; when Jesus came to us on the shore of Galilee all those years ago, and caused a miracle catch of fish, that we had failed to get all night, and afterward said, “Come follow me…” and we ‘forsook all and followed Him’ (John 5:2-11); we were at the very beginning of the Lord’s disruption of the ways of men on earth, a ragtag group of us, fisherman and other tradies, who would become foundational to the eternal plans of God. Truly amazing! We must never doubt small beginnings (Luke 19:17).
We were all Jews, called out of Israel to be leaders in the New Testament Church, where now, all believing saints of old and new live together… All a part of this wonderful eternal city; a bride city for a bride people, from a God groom who is Love, and creates and loves deeply beyond anything we comprehend. We didn’t know back then… we were fishing one minute, disrupting the next… oh, how He loves and honours His pioneer friends forever (John 15:15)! And here I am experiencing a new heaven, as a witness to that future. I sobbed with deep joy, at the full and challenging life I have been privileged to have had since then… if my dad and family could see me now…
‘You have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speak better things than that of Abel.’ (Heb 12:22-24). The Lord Is There… The Lord Is There… the eternal place of rest for all His saints!

Flying Again Measuring the City
Adriquel then showed me a ‘golden reed to measure the city, its gates, and its wall.’ (Rev 21:15). I climbed back onto Adriquel’s back as he held the 10 foot reed, and we flew all over, and around this beautiful creation city of God. ‘And the city is laid out as a square, and its length is as great as it breadth. And he measured the city with the reed; twelve thousand furlongs. Its length, breadth, and height are equal.’ (Rev 21:16).
The square space city block ascended from heaven; 1500 miles (2414 kilometres), long, wide and high. More than 5 times the size of the nation of Israel as we know it, 290 miles (470 km) long, 85 miles (135 km) wide. In a way it is a great victory of God’s grand design, to create something so beautiful and eternal, as an honour to the old city where he gave his life for all humanity; now bigger than the whole covenant nation He loves.
When we look at the beauty of this New Jerusalem with its historical foundation, we can never forget anything the Lord has done. It’s now the new residence of all the saints, sitting on its foundation upon a new earth.
‘Then he measured its wall: one hundred and forty-four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of an angel’ (Rev 21:17). The walls around the city protecting it, are 216 feet (65 meters) high. In those walls are the 12 gates where the angels stand guard. The walls are built of precious ‘jasper, and the city was pure gold, like clear glass.’ (Rev 21:18).
The construction of the city is made with the highest purity of gold ever known. So much so it is not even coloured gold, but a clear transparent glass like substance, with what looks like a golden cast appearing and weaving all through it, so strong it is unbreakable; designed to last forever.
There are 12 precious foundation stones, extravagantly adorning the walls in continual layers like a band, all the way around the city for hundreds of miles. Each one with specific purpose and inherent properties, one on top of the other, representing us; the 12 disciples. There is Jasper, sapphire, chalcedony, emerald, sardonyx, sardius, chrysolite, beryl, topaz, chrysoprase, jacinth and amethyst (Rev 21:19-20).
The stones colours, reflected the many prisms in the crystalline walls and streets; deep blues, light sky blues with various streaks of colour, green, red and white, living moving stone with some brown hues of honey. Some greens are shades of gold, yellow and ocean-green, on the top of the layers sits the royal colours of violet and purple.
The crystal clear solid Jasper of the walls hold it all together; no expense spared there from the Creator of all things! His honour overwhelmed me, and is of the highest quality, and to see it now thousands of years before its reveal… I shuddered.
‘And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: each individual gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.’ (Rev 21:21). The gates were beyond stunning, so big and round, whiter than white, as if washed in the blood of the Lamb Himself. These giant pearls have been cultured in the Spirit over aeons of time, mirroring and growing alongside Israel’s earth journey, and now living as a doorway testimony to the true eternity, and the everlasting covenant promise between God and His pioneering people.
They represent how Israel has been torn open and pulled apart so many times in her history but kept going, and in the deepest of irritants in the human experience of pain, death and suffering, grew the tissue of human resilience, to become a famous mantle of an ever enduring nation that lasts forever.
The pearly gates of great price, protect the city of beautiful blinding coloured lights; where the streets have no name, and you too just feel their unique character as you walk on among the purity, looking through the crystal glass in child like wonder as far as the eye can see. Magnificent!
No Temple
The city view flight, and the work I did with Adriquel, literally take my breath away. What an incredible place to have the centre of God’s mighty eternal kingdom and government. In a New Jerusalem, earth and heaven, free of evil and oppression that she suffered for centuries in the old earth life. Today, we flew around the new creation, that God thoughtfully planned with great love and significance for an extremely long time.
Inside the city, ‘I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.’ (Rev 21:22) The old temple construct as we knew it is non-existent in this new world. The symbolic representation, and the old Holy of Holies secret inner place, is now transferred into the living hearts of all those who believe in Him and who God truly is; an intimate supernatural fellowship of living temples of love: alive, active, and real.
The Light of the City
‘The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it, and the Lamb is its light’ (Rev 21:23). I now understood my words of long ago more than ever. ‘And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it… that was the true Light which gives light to every man who comes into the world.’ (John 1:5,9). There is no evil darkness anymore, as the purveyor of it, who could not even comprehend his own dark, is now suffering in the lake of fire. There is no temple or sacrifice, no sun or planets providing reflected light, no darkness, no doors or gates to lock, and no abominations as on earth.
There is no energy crisis in the eternal city. The literal Light of who Jesus is fills it, and every human being is eternally shining as ambassadors of God; working with Him and bringing light and creativity to an eternal future with limitless opportunities with the Creator. The transparent city is a conduit of light filling every region and space of this new creation of God. As I wrote, ‘This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.’ (1 John 1:5).
‘And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honour into it. Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night there). And they shall bring the glory and the honour of nations into it. But there shall by no means enter anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life’ (Rev 21:24-27).
The great round gates of pearls, slowly spin on clear crystalline hinge points, freely opening on a recognised vocal command, by those who are in the Lambs Book of Life; whenever they wish, they go where they want, in the continual daytime of the eternal activity of men and angels.
The saved Gentile nations, kings and leaders enter at will, bringing their honour; also the saints may travel elsewhere on the new earth and even into the new heaven if they want to, without formal permission, but it seems with the clear recognition of His name on their foreheads. I have so many questions… yet to be answered…
The city is 1500 miles high reaching into the heavens, anchored there with possibilities, stunning views, and a myriad of understandings, that we are yet to comprehend. The very top, disappears like a pyramid pinnacle into the heaven’s of the glowing mystical light of this honour city.
The only things allowed into this city of lights; are glorious, full of honour and integrity, truthful, kind, and rooted in pure love, with the transparent character of eternity, beholding a moral purity never seen on earth. Anything bad trying to enter in, even if it did exist, would send off the loudest of alarm bells, over the 1500 square miles within the living organic nature of the greatest city of light ever created.
Of course the lake of fire is always there somewhere, ready to receive any abomination that may rear its unfortunate head… as you never know… but for now, we’ll have to get used to living a new existence in eternity with the most intelligent, beautifully eccentric Creator; The Lord God Almighty.
A Coffee Toast
Soon after our journey exploring ‘planet’ New Jerusalem, Adriquel and I alighted back on the high mountain. We found a soft spot of ‘snow’ shaped like a high backed chair made for two. From under his wing, he pulled out what looked like a half reed long, bright blue, oval stringed instrument; when he let it go, it hovered in mid-air in front of him. Amazing! He then pulled out a dark grey metallic flask, clicked open the lid, and produced two ornate cups; Adriquel is a flying kitchen!
He poured hot dark liquid into the cups… yes you guessed it… coffee. It seemed he was a little hooked now too. He blew breath on the hovering instrument, and a calming hum looped on a beautiful peaceful melody permeating our little mountain dugout. We both smiled, clinked cups to the future, sipped organic black coffee; enjoying the view of the eternal city…
What a marvel, what a privilege to sit still and take it all in. There in all its majesty hanging in space, clad within a protective sphere of clear crystal, a city made of the most breathtaking gold like crystal glass that can hum with music. This planet is the New Jerusalem, on and in a new organic, living breathing spiritual earth.
The glory of its light emanates from God Himself, live streaming through the crystalline prisms of its walls and gates with rainbow colours no one has ever seen or imagined. The Lord had a rainbow around his original throne in heaven… but it even pales in comparison, as He and all His people now have a city full of rainbow colours of promise everywhere! What a show, what a life!
After a while of contemplation, I lifted up my ornate cup in a final toast to the city, and sculled the last of my coffee. Adriquel said, “Time to go…there’s a bit more to see and write, before you go back…” We packed up, and the end reality hit me… I felt sad for a moment… but I put it aside, as I must now finish the final task of writing what I see…

Final Thoughts
“But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers” 1 Peter 4:7. Jesus said; ‘For the things concerning Me have an end’ (Luke 22:37b).
‘He (Jesus) who testifies to these things says,“Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”’ Rev 22:20.

PRAYER OF FAITH: The Call to give your life to Jesus Christ.
No matter where you are in your Christian walk, Jesus is with you; in your triumphs and trials, to the end! If you have never known God; know this;
“Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world (ages)” Amen’ Matthew 28:20. ‘But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And the gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come’ Matthew 24:13-14.
Pray this prayer from your heart and your spirit will come alive to God, for with him there is hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).
“My Father in heaven, I give you my life, I repent of all my sin, recreate me brand new. I give you my heart. Fill me Lord Jesus Christ with Your Holy Spirit. I believe You died for me on the cross, and by Your shed blood, you washed away my sins once and for all. Raise me from my deadness of my life to live a new life, just like you Jesus, when you were raised from the dead; I believe you did that. Make my spirit reborn, and let me come alive too, filled with Your Holy Spirit.”
